STEP ONE: SCHEDULING YOUR SESSION

Booking and Deposit

To reserve a date for your photography session, a deposit of £100 is required. This deposit will be deducted from your chosen collection. The easiest way to compare calendars is to email or call me with a few dates that work for your family. For newborn sessions, we will note your due date and schedule a date once the baby has arrived.

Scheduling Considerations

As you review your calendar, please keep the following in mind:

  • We offer both Studio and Location Sessions.

  • Spring and autumn are the busiest times of the year for outdoor family photos in Cornwall due to the beautiful colours and temperate weather. If you want a session during these times, especially on a weekend, please contact us as soon as possible. If the weather is particularly bad, we have a studio space as a backup or we can reschedule.

  • If you need prints or gifts by a specific date (Mother's Day, Father's Day, Christmas, etc.), please book at least one month in advance to allow sufficient processing and printing time.

Best Timing for Sessions

  • Babies and young children are usually at their best in the morning. If you have children under five and prefer a location session, consider scheduling it around sunrise.

STEP TWO: THE SESSION ITSELF

Session Preparation

Once we've decided on a time and date and officially booked your session, I will send you a preparation guide to help you prepare. This guide covers everything from choosing outfits to strategies for getting kids to cooperate.

Confirmation and Rescheduling

A few days before your session, I will reach out to confirm the time and location. If someone seems to be coming down with the flu or if you have booked a location session and the weather forecast looks questionable, we can discuss rescheduling options. This is also a great time to ask any last-minute questions or share any fun ideas you may have.

Session Duration and Flexibility

On the day of the session, please allocate 1-1.5 hours (2-2.5 hours for a newborn session).

Relax and Enjoy

Finally, take a breath and relax. I promise to give breaks to both grown-ups and kids as needed, ensuring the session is as painless as possible for everyone involved. Teas and coffees are provided in our studio.

STEP THREE: THE FUN PART!

Within just a couple of weeks of your session, you'll receive an email from me letting you know that your photos are ready to view in a slideshow. Once you've had a chance to see them, you will choose which collection you would like to purchase. After that, you'll have a full month to select the specific digital files and print items you want to use to fill that collection... zero pressure!

We have samples of all the physical products we offer at our studio, and we are more than happy to set up a time to have you come by.

Please make note that your £100 deposit will be deducted from your chosen collection price.

What you're going to do with your images is perhaps the most important aspect to consider when you're planning for a photography session. You'll never get the same feeling looking at your photographs on a screen as you will seeing them on your wall or flipping through the pages of an album, so we include a substantial print credit with every collection. Below is a sample of some of the items you can choose among:

We have recently had our Newborn Photography shoot with our little boy and Jo was so friendly and welcoming. She took so much time to capture so many beautiful photos of our little boy that we will cherish forever. I would recommend Jo to anyone looking for a Newborn Photographer. We cannot wait for the next session.
